A few years ago the Canadian Brass performed in my town (Reading, PA). the music "critic" for our local yocal paper wrote a review and was merciless in her criticism due to the fact that they do not play "artistic" music. It is merely entertaining fluff. Now while I would agree with her to some extent (I wish they would perform more brass works on their concerts, heck one piece like an Ewald, and Arnold or something similar would be nice. The fact is they are world class performers with over 30 recordings and countless awards to their credit, not to mention their tireless efforts to promote music education, and here is some half baked pianist writing a negative review of them. Who the hell is she and what des she even know about a brass instrument? Some people will never get it, so the heck with them.
