Right now I am writing a tuba concerto with orchestra and hoping that it will turn out as a great piece (don't we allllllll...). Anyways, I would like to know if anyone out there know anything about certain SPECIFICS that is in a concerto. I understand things like it has three movements and form and how to bring out the melody and voicings. I assume one that is not mentioned is probably breaks for the chops to rest. But is there any other things to consider when writing a tuba concerto? Thanks for all your replies.
