Isn't just simpler (and no, Jon is not at all guilty of this - but quite a few past-posters are) of simply completely "writing off" this piece when one finds it too difficult for one's current ability level, and to justify this by stating that it is (due to the composer's successful career) "too commercial" or "lacking depth"?
