I believe the John Williams Concerto is one of the most impressive pieces to listen to. It always gets a great audience reaction. It is full of opportunities to interpret great tunes. It is not as easy to sight read as the Vaughan Williams, but that does not make it bad music.

You can't work it up in only a couple of months like some solos. You really need to spend a good year on it to get your arms around it. Once you get past the technical demands, and the sheer size of the piece, you will start to see that it is thick with musical content also.
