I'm sorry Mary Ann, that is my mistake. I meant the C on the second space of the bass clef staff, not the one the octave below. I was thinking the tuba octave, sorry! Are you using 1-3 or 4 for that C? And 1-2-3 or 2-4 for B natural? I was just trying to make the point that these notes get far more usage on a daily basis than the near pedal tones that your solution helps. I think this is why compensators were developed, to get something approaching the solution you tried but not affecting the other notes adversely as your solution does.
