I haven't tried to play the horn this way in a group yet, so I suppose there could be minor intonation problems that I didn't hear. I'm not using either 1-3 or 4 for the two-leger line C, but 1-3-4. Just 4 is quite flat, and 1-3 is not in the harmonic series, although it might be a false tone. As a horn player, I'm really accustomed to bending notes to get them in tune, so I don't "expect" an instrument to play a centered, in tune pitch, just by pushing some valves down. I did notice that the euph wanted to "jump" harmonics a lot more than a horn does upon bending the note. I'll report back after I try it in a group, and maybe start a huge argument.
