With all of recent post on BBb to CC conversion and buzz about Yorks and York copies, I have a few questions.
Is the horn all that it is really made up to be?
What makes it better than its copies?
If Jacobs had played a Miraphone 186 in BBb, do you think we would have the York-a-mania we have today?
What if Jacobs didn't like the York?
Why is it the York is copied and not the custom or one-of-a-kind horn of another tubist?
For those of you that have played it, was it really a great instrument, or do we just allow our minds to trick us into thinking its so great just because Jacobs had one...how much of it is just psychological?
If Porkorny didn't play the York, would it be as popular as it is today?
