Dear Friends -

Just got the below message from Dennis AsKew:

Friends and Colleagues,

In addition to losing Philip Jones, today, January 22, we lost a quiet,
but major figure in the tuba/euphonium world.

David Randolph, professor of tuba and euphonium at the University of
Georgia died this morning. Last year, David went through a bone marrow
transplant in an attempt to "fix" leukemia, which have taken over his
system. Until last week, it seemed to have done it's job, and he was very
healthy and recovering. The exact cause of death is not known at this
time.

His widow and children request no flowers, but are setting up a
scholarship fund in his memory. Further information on that can be
obtained from the University of Georgia School of Music.

There is a planned memorial concert and tribute for next weekend. Further
details have not been finalized at this point.

Please keep his family and current students in your thoughts and prayers.

all best to you all,

D.AsKew
