Good question! Actually, I was thinking about this just after I picked up my Willson. Here is where my thinking stands now:

I would probably do it on the Willson. But only because the only two choices for me now are the Willson or the Cervany 641. And to be completely honest, the Cervany is the deciding factor. My Cervany 641 is an excellent Berlioz instrument. But one of the reasons I got it was because I don't play F tuba and the 641 sounds exactly like an F tuba to me. And it fits that bill nicely but it also has a fairly touchy low range. I can work around it but it means I generally use the 641 on pieces that call for that sound but don't go much below the staff. I haven't seriously prepared the RVW yet on my Willson but I have noodled around a bit with it and it seems to lay really well. I'm just not convinced yet that the sound won't be too heavy for my concept of the RVW.

I hope that isn't too evasive and answer. For what its worth...
