Yes, indeed. Such issues are always greatly subjective. I find the John Williams really lacking in great, memorable tunes. It also resembles a violin concerto more than a tuba concerto but yes, I'm one of those who can't play the piece. However, I also don't think that writing something extremely difficult is what makes a piece a good one, or not a good one. Just putting myself in the non tuba playing, public's position, I just don't think it's a particularly memorable piece. I'm certain there are others who don't feel that way.
