I'm 5'8" and I have a 2165 as well. I have a wide frame. Anyhow, I understand your problem with the water keys. My advice, have all of the water keys removed and the holes covered over. Do all of the dumping of spit by removing the slides and tilting the tuba. I do that with all of my slides even though I have the water keys in tack. Something to think about!!
