Just my two cents here..
I was told by one of the reps at custom that when Sam Pilafian bought a PT-6 he commented that it had the sound of his Alex(which he has sold) minus the intonation problems. This gives you something to compare it to.
I wouldn't think that buying the Alex would be a bad decision as long as you aren't too terribly put out by the intonation issues and you like how it sounds and responds.
