I hate to get argumentative, but I have to disagree with the tuba being the easiest instrument. For the record, I started on baritone and can say that is the easiest thing I've learned to do period. However, the transition to tuba was the first time I was challenged musically. It requires much more air than other instruments and that leads to all kinds of problems in rhythmic accuracy, phrasing, etc. As for it getting the easiest parts, I think that if you expand your horizons to other types of music such as chamber music and jazz, you'll find that the instrument gets hard quickly. I think you'd also enjoy the spotlight if you had the chance. Once again, I'm not trying to start a fight here, but I think that if anyone considers their instrument overly "easy", they're not challenging themselves.
