I'll start by pointing out that I have never heard the piece, so I do not know just how technical it is. That also means that I don't know of any recordings, unfortunately.
However, I am stunned by the naysaying. Here we have a Doctoral student trying to push the envelope of his horn. I say, go for it. That what we should expect from doctorial students (and by the way, that's why I never got anywhere close).
