Your second comment then would also apply to the original poster, since his advisor for the recital would be his best source for telling him whether the piece would be appropriate. I will admit that I may have missed that point. But then again, I have not heard every piece of music (or practice room schlock for that matter) ever written for every instrument.

However, my original point stands: we do ourselves no service by telling the best and brightest of our troop to not push the envelope. Whether the original poster was being sarcastic, I bet someone else (besides me) would end up getting that message from the quotes I quoted.

I guess that's why we spend so much time talking about the horns and not the music.
