I didn't mean to imply that college teachers aren't musicians. I believe quite the opposite and I agree with you both whole heartedly. I think when a individual involved in music as a profession trys to seperate the aspects of performing and teaching too much, he/she is doing themselves an injustice. Also, I know many musicologists and theorists who are as capable musicans as any studio teacher. Only the focus varies.
