I have a question for you or anyone else who may know the answer.
You mention that good tubas retain their value if kept in "pristine condition" but I occasionally look at the tubas for sale and such and none of them ever seem to sell very close to what they sell for new. If I bought a new HB-21, used it for a week, then offered it up for sale, would it sell close to what I paid for it (given that I did little to NO damage to it and paid a fair market price)?
It has just always appeared to me that tubas tend to fall to a certain value and then sell for around that number for most used versions of that model. Given I have not been on this board for as long as some others or dealt with any tuba purchases/sales other than my own CB-50 a little over a year and a half ago, this is just what I've observed. What's your take?
