I think of the Rudy sound as in between both the Miraphone and Meinl. Darker and fuller in sound than the Miraphone, but lighter and brighter in sound than the Dark tone of the Meinl-Westons. From my experiences, it has maybe a slightly "sweeter" sound than the Meinl-Westons. By that I mean it has less "grow" or "Grain" in the sound, and is slightly more diffuse (wider sound) than the typical Meinl tone. So, in that regard, it is a little similar to the Alexander, but still brighter than the Alexander in tone. I play on a Meinl-Weston (rotory), and I think it has similarities to the Alexander sound, but with more "guts". I think you are also correct that most Rudy's have better intonation than an Alexander.
