Hello Once again,
Thanks to everyone for their moral support on my experience the other day. It will be a long week in orchestra but again I appreciate all the great comments I got on the subject of conductors. I have another question. Has anyone played John Adams' Grand Pianola Music? My biggest weakness seems to be playing soft, high, long note durations in exposed situations. There is a big solo, measure 719 I think, that lives around E above middle C. Is this sort of thing anyone elses achiles heel? I was just curious. How do you folks deal with this sort of thing. If you don't know this piece, the solo in Petrushka also ate my lunch, similar kind of thing. What do you do if you feel pretty good about something playing by yourself but just seem to get too pumped up or anxious about it come game time? Thanks much, I will be in touch,
Arnold
