Before I even considered which tuba to approach, German type 6 valve F or Brit type comp Eb, I made quite precise calculations about the, at least theoretically, necessary valve slide pulls.
Whereas the F had needs for pulls on at least 3 notes (Ab, G, Gb) the Eb comper had two weak spots (F, E natural). As both valve set-ups exclude valve pulling on the fly (and as the sound pleased me best) I went for the Eb.
Why do you consider "very accessible tuning slides" important, when you can not apply pullings on the fly?
