First of all, you did use the word tune.
I've had time to organize my thoughts so I hope this doesn't ramble.
The CC tuba purportedly has a more compact tone than a BBb. IMO this will provide a better blend with trombones than a BBb.
Also, other factors of horn design beside key determine tonal qualities of an instrument. How does one compare a Mirafone 186 in BBb to a York CC.
If you are search for a true homogeneous sound a conrabass trombone will better provide it than a tuba.
