To everyone that has had bell damage by rough handling: my hb21 came with a felt covered styrofoam bell plug. When the horn was shipped the bell plug was taped in place. All the weight of the horn is absorbed to the sides of the inter bell. Has anyone used this sort of thing and still had damage? Also, if the case does not have good blocking (most cases) and the bell is able to touch the end of the case it doesn't take much of a hit to crease the bell. Look at the care we take when we sit the horn down on the bell. I would not consider going on any trips with my case without adding several well fitted blocks and some extra foam. Has anyone had problems with the yamaha cases? The one I had with my CC621 was fitted perfectly to the horn with moulded styrofoam. I don't remember if the bell was able to touch the case. There must be a way to travel without all this worry.
