Well stated, not being a great lover of Prokofievs music(none of which I find in the most way profound)I would simply like to state that at least he gave us something worthwhile to do. Musically in diapers? That is a judgement call I would hate to make. Do we have have a worthwhile voice, yes, all we have to do is to look at the tuba part in the 2nd movement of Brahm's 2nd to find truly sublime music. I think we need to think not of the music that has been written, but how we approach and intepret it. If we play poor, or great, music with integrity, then we are, indeed, out of diapers.
