But you really have no problem maintaining a good seal? I hear air leaking out all around my embouchure when I attempt notes below about EEb. When I press hard enough to eliminate leakage, I can't get my lips relaxed enough to make the note. When you guys talk about a space between your lips and teeth, I become confused.
And, I agree, I can't deal with the Quaker look. I'll shave it off first, but I'm afraid I'd be like a newly-sheared poodle (I've had the beard for over 20 years), and scare myself in a mirror.
