I see you mention the Miraphone 188. Perhaps you should check out their new horn, the 1291 CC. I haven't played the CC version, but am quite familiar with the BBb, and it's impressive. Check out the link to Alan Baer's recent comment on the 1291 CC. If you search the archives, you'll see some very strong comments on the 1291 from both Roger Lewis at Brasswind and Tony Clements at Low Brass Werks.
