You need to get back into playing a long time in your high register if you're playing lead trombone in a dance band. Get the music as soon as you can and work up to playing it two or three hours a day a few days before the gig. Unless you play a lot of extreme high register work on tuba, the first bone part will wear you out early in the job. Deliberately build your endurance.
