Bob Rusk told me that he played one recently and was quite impressed with the sound--many overtones, very flavorful. I asked about the valves. He said they were OK. He said the instrument is not constructed very robustly--in terms of bracing, etc,so it wouldn't hold up in a school music situation--but of course he likes a less braced horn
for the sound qualities it encourages.
