I'm currently trying to get ready for the local solo competition, and I'm trying to get some advice. I'm going to play either Bell's arrangement of "Air and Bourree" or Vaughan-Williams "Six Studies". But I'm having a bit of trouble with "nimbleness" and the high register throughout these pieces. My current "horn of choice" (that is, to say, the only horn the school has other than a 3-valve Jupiter) is a YBB-641. I was wondering if those who have experience with this beast could offer a bit of help. Thanks!
