I'm not sure why I think this is related....but I do believe I recently talked a treble-clef-only amateur middle aged euphonium player into learning bass clef. She knows I read any and every clef on any and every instrument and how much flexibility that gives me....and I told her I learned them one at a time, and that it takes 2-3 months of writing in the fingerings and learning pieces, and then she will be passably good at bass clef. At her age I was really gratified that she would even consider learning a new clef, because most amateurs simply will not take this on, even in their 30's.
