The reason for the seemingly incongruent size measurements can be traced back to the fact that Cerveny moved their factory a number of times during the course of their existence, and had different tool and dye makers manufacturing parts for them, all to various specifications, depending on who was in charge during that time period. When the factory was in Yuslov, Graaflitz, the size of the instruments can be detected to be a smidge larger than when the factory was in Bronslaat, Verzn. It has been conjectured that various parts, still in inventory but from different time periods of the Company's manufacturing shelf-life could be used for instruments made simultaneously. To explain further; if two tubas were being built side by side at the same time, parts may be used from different manufacturing time periods, hence the size anomalies that sometimes occur.
