Not even. At last census, there were about 80,000 unemployed EE's in the US. Big business has discovered the secret to solving employment shortages--H1B visas (the US still issues 100,000 every year for engineers, in spite of the high unemployment rate) or offshore operations (if you call Dell for tech support, chances are that your call is going to be taken by someone in New Delhi).
