I just did the tubachristmas in Boise and had a blast! I quit going for the past few years because I was sick of hearning high school sousaphonists blatting "louie louie." I reluctantly went this year in support of the rapidly developing tuba studio here at Boise State University. I am really glad I did.

Sure there were plenty of rotten musicians, has-beens (like me), and some exceptionnaly good players, but it seemed that there was a common goal of playing nicely. I was really excited to see a large number of Junior High Students just lovin' it.

Most important was the crowd. There was a large crowd who came to the rotunda of the state capitol just to hear the group play. Not just wives, moms and husbands of the tuba/euphers, but people who came to hear us play. It was just plain fun!

By the way, I used a Yamaha 67B4 mouthpiece.
