With me, it works a bit differently. I need the mouthpiece angled down a few degrees, but my mouthpipe is perfectly level. I'm of average height, and it's also a bit tall for me. I end up perching on the edge of my chair, letting my legs hold the horn, pulling the bottom bow of the horn 'way in, and leaning slightly forward. I find that I actually get more air capacity and pressure this way, project the sound a little more forward, and am more comfortable, even with my big Cerveny. I rarely can get comfortable with any horn sitting on my chair. The only exception is playing a Conn 20J with a tuning bit, because I can angle the mouthpiece just right, and it's too heavy to hold with my legs.
