Most of these kids are being training for marching band. They are taught to play LOUD and little emphasis is placed on intonation. Too bad. Have you seen a high school marching band lately? Why, with all the props, flag waving, and dancing around the field... it's no wonder the real music is secondary. It's the production, man. Just the production.
