Loras Schissel had to cancel at the last minute.
Still it was one excellent and STRONG tuba section
with Akins, Tirey, LeBlanc, and Zelincek. The
concert was wonderful and standing room only. Sousa
marches were used as encores mostly, and were favorites
of Paul's we were told: Free Lance, US Field
Artillery, Semper Fidelis, Invincible Eagle,
King Cotton, Fairest of the Fair,
Solid Men to the Front (twice Bierley conducted this the
second time), Liberty Bell, and of course the Stars and
Stripes Forever (twice, with 16 piccolos each time)
Earle Louder played All Those Endearing Young Charms.
It doesn't get any better than this!
