To me, two 1/2 hour lessons isn't worth it. You can already say that you were an "Adjunct Professor" on your resume, since that's what you've been doing.

As far as I know, you can still deduct the mileage on your taxes, but check with an accountant to make sure.

Is there a possibility of drumming up a larger number of students next semester? And insisting upon hour lessons, just to make it worth your while? You learn a lot when you teach. Maybe this time the lesson is where to draw the line. If you give up this position, can you enlarge your local studio by three students, and not have the wasted time in the car? Three solid students, at an hour each, gets you 3X the money, an extra three hours of personal practice time a week, and 3X more teaching experience. The math tells you what to do.

My 2 pennies,

SD
