Are you saying that a trumpet has a conical bore? Of course there is a conical section to any brass instrument, but look at the bore in the valve slides. The difference is that with my baritone I can reverse the slides and they will fit, but with a euphonium the different sides of each slide are of different diameter. There may not be any standards, but there are differences.
