Hey Henry, If you are happy with your e-flat, just stick with that. MANY F tubas are squirrely in the lower register (usually low d or d-flat, down to a or so). Good results are possible with practice, diligence and blind faith in that even though those notes FEEL funney, once you get into the horn they actually sound fine.
