Rapid quenching of red hot brass will harden it. No solutiion for you. I once worked on a Yorkbrunner that was cryo frozen a couple of times. Boy that brass got tough as a two dollar steak! Cryogenic freezing was originally done to make very hard, steel tools. Many of the benefits people claim are the same as work hardening the brass. So try freezing it. If nothing else, the placebo effect will have kicked in. You know, you spent an extra $350 and by God, it's gonna play better even if you have to practice to make it so. Matt
