1) no dent eraser on the bell flare - EVER!!!
2) a dent roller will work only on small ripples
3) a good repair person will also use a bell iron and a plastic hammer
4) depends on how much money you are willing to spend
a) the best repair will all be done by hand - holding a dent ball or body anvil inside the bell and using a plastic hammer to tap out the high and low spots
5) it's cheaper to use a dent machine but ridges are likely

I am a repairman and dented the bell of my horn on a couple of occassions. I spent the time to initially roll out the worst of the dents and then used the hand method. I put body anvils (car body shop stuff) and dent balls (music repair shop items) under the dents I wanted completely smoothed out and tapped on them with a plastic hammer. I took my time and, at the end, was completely satisfied with the results. (The repairs I did were totally on the bell flare. Bow dents are another story.)

This all really depends on the quality of the job you want done. Spend a little money - or spend a lot of money. The quality is usually reflected in the charges.
