Now I’m no Warren Deck, but compensating……nah, I don’t think so. I’m quite happy with where I’m at in this stage of my life. I’m obviously not a fan of anything marching related, and found it funny that the young kid that originally posted thought that DCI is the standard by which we judge tuba playing. I mean, when was the last time a professional player told you to join a marching band? They don’t!!!!! They tell you to stay the #$(AT)$ away from them. To answer you’re question though, I may not have copious amounts of skill when it comes to the tuba, but I know that if I’m serious about playing the tuba that I should steer far away from DCI. I’ll take my pt-6 over a sousaphone any day.
