The monett trumpets that have all that extra metal between the tubing is supposed to benefit from "LESS" spurious resonating. lending focus & a higher degree of "centering" and projection. So if I go out & buy a bunch of sheet brass to fill in the open spaces on my tuba & add some "weights" to the valves will I NET the same benefits?
How about piston valves?, I noticed everyone seems to be using the weights on rotor valves only.
