I just don't see how playing in high school can be detrimental at all.

I think everyone becomes a better player from playing great works. La Fiesta Mexicana,Lincolnshire Posy, Rocky Point Holiday, Anything by Holst (First Suite in Eb, Second Suite in F, Moorside March, HAMMERSMITH!), Anything by Grainger, Down A Country Lane, Festive Overture, Carnival Overture, Bach Fantasia in G Major, Ives Variations on America, Suite of Old American Dances...

These are all pieces our wind ensemble played last year (and a few from honor band)...All these pieces helped me grow as a musician

All playing is good playing
