I assume you are worried about your face because you are reading things about people ruining their playing thru marching band. It's true, marching band can create problems with overblowing and create many bad habits. If while you are playing you feel like you are doing something that seems un-musical, stop doing that. You never need to sacrifice tonal quality just to be a hero. A good sound will travel a long way, and has more carrying power 50 yards away than a bad sound.
The other goal is to relax, and exhale without pushing, more like a relaxing sigh. let the build-up of air occur behind the lips, not in the throat. you will feel pressure behind your embouchure, but everything else should be very calm, even in marching band. When I was in School, we had a section of 5 quality players that had more sound than most bands with 20 players, because we all knew not to overblow.
