When you put a bigger bell on a brassinstrument, you also give it a new intonation.
Mostly not better.
Every pipe bore are related to the bell- and the mouthpipe bore.
When your tuba is to stiff, try the same bore but whit les material.
Most bells are made of 0,7 / 0,8 mm brass sheed, try one made of 0,5 mm.
I have tryed it whit mine F tuba (hirs-brunner 4valves 1 rotary, silverplated), and it worked out verry well.
The only tuba builder who make there tuba's whit 0,55 mm brass sheed, i know, are THEIN.
(I don't know the inches and your langues, but that's your problem).
