Thank you for answering my question. It seems true that there was no William Bell model BBb tuba, but Meinl-Weston made a BBb with a .770 bore called "Symphony Model" with a detachable bell. This was when Meinl-Weston was distributed by Getzen. It may be that the detachable bell was the same for BBb and CC, as an old catalog lists only one bell in the accessories section, (logically coded DUB..detachable upright bell). If anyone knows otherwise, or has additional information please let me know.
