In the mid 1980's, I remember that the Giardinelli catalog listed a double tuba made by Alexander in the keys of CC and F. I believe it was basically an F tuba bore, taper, and bell, with double valves and a trigger to switch 'sides' and add an extra loop like on a double french horn. Perhaps one of this BBS' resident Alexander gurus knows something about it. BTW, some of today's newer F tubas (B&S PT15, MW45SLP, Yamaha YFB822) have much improved low registers from those of 20 years ago.
