I once played in a local college concert band as an adult student and sat next to a Euphonium player reading bass clef (the clef I learned many, many years ago.) The director called up the next number and he didn't have a bass clef part so I asked him if he wanted to read from my treble part. He replied that his teacher told him that real euphonium players read bass clef. I told him that real euphonium players read both!
