Try to find a copy of the old recording of Stan Freese with the University of Minnesota Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Bencriscutto. It's worth looking for.
Work on this piece slowly to get your fingers and tongue coordinated. Develop an even, clear, musical approach, especially during the slow section and cadenzas. Pay attention to entrances that are "off the beat." I would also work extensively and in extreme ranges on the Eb, Cm, and adjacent scales to make those finger patterns "no brainers."
