Though a resolute fan of BBb tubas, if someone gave me, say, a Meinl-Weston 2000, I'd learn CC in a heartbeat (or, more accurately, I'd start learning CC in a heartbeat). Probably the only reason I never switched, given the availability of fabulous CC tubas, is that I couldn't afford them and the BBb equivalents (when I could find them) were within my means.

Some of the Eb's are bigger and are designed for general orchestral use, moreso than many F's. But for instruments that you'd like in your application, this difference is probably not significant.
